Payment verification

Why KYC may be required

Understand why a payment provider may request identity verification and how to submit information safely.

KYC means “Know Your Customer.” It is an identity-checking process used by many payment companies. It may appear when a card payment is processed through a provider that converts traditional currency into a digital asset before settling the transaction.

Why a payment partner may ask

Card networks, financial institutions, exchanges, and digital-asset on-ramp providers have obligations intended to reduce fraud, money laundering, sanctions breaches, and misuse of financial services. The provider, not PharmacySpark, decides whether a check is required and what level of verification applies.

What verification can involve

Basic verification

A provider may confirm an email address, phone number, billing information, date of birth, tax or national identifier, or other account details.

Enhanced verification

A provider may request an identity document, address evidence, or a live selfie/liveness check. Requirements vary by provider, amount, location, and risk assessment.

Where your documents go

Submit identity information only on the verified payment provider’s secure website or interface reached from checkout. Do not send an ID, selfie, card image, password, recovery phrase, or one-time code through PharmacySpark email, support forms, or social messages.

How to check a redirect

  • Start from PharmacySpark checkout rather than an unsolicited payment link.
  • Read the provider name shown before leaving checkout.
  • Check the destination domain letter by letter and confirm the page uses HTTPS.
  • Stop if the provider or requested action differs from the checkout explanation.
  • Return to PharmacySpark support if payment status is unclear; do not pay twice.

Can KYC be skipped?

PharmacySpark cannot override a provider’s verification decision. If you do not wish to complete a requested check, do not submit the transaction. Another method may be used only when it is legitimately available in checkout for the same order and destination.
